Blest are the pure in heart
"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God". Matt. 5:8
Blest are the pure in heart
For they shall see their God:
The secret of the Lord is theirs;
Their soul is Christ's abode
The Lord, who left the sky
Our life and peace to bring,
And dwelt in lowliness with men,
Their pattern and their king,
Still to the lowly soul "
He doth Himself impart,
And for His dwelling and His throne
Clooseth the pure in heart.
The heart that is made pure
Is through the blood of Christ:
He pardons, forgives them their sins
All those who trust in Him
Lord, we Thy presence seek
Ours may this blessing be
O give the pure and lowly heart,
A temple meet for Thee.
