O Lord who hath ascended up on high
"This is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world' John 5:51
O Lord who hath ascended up on high,
Condescend now to feast with us today;
You come and sit at table's head for us,
Reveal to us Thyself in bread and wine.
This room is liken'd to the upper room,
The Lord sits at the table, and He blesses,
He breaks the bread and gives it as His flesh;
Thy children receive and take it by faith.
We who are sitting here at the table
Are one great family in Him
We share all things with all in this table,
With all who rest now in eternal home.
We are one as we fellowship with Thee
Who is our saviour, Lord and Redeemer;
Please open thou our eyes for us to see,
And know Thee more by breaking of the bread.
