Not All The Blood of Beasts, and Lamb
"Behold the lamb of God, who taketh away the sin of the world" John 1:29
Not all the blood of beasts, and lamb.
On Jewish alters slain to death.
Could give the guilty conscience peace.
Or wash away our stain and spot.
But Christ, the heavenly lamb, of God,
Takes all our sins away from us,
A sacrifice of nobler name,
And richer blood, than they had made.
My faith would lay her hand, and all.
On that meek head of thine, O Lord,
While as a penitent I stand,
And here confess my sin to thee.
Believing, we rejoice, in thee.
To fell the curse remove, from us,
We bless the lamb with cheerful voice,
And trust His bleeding love on us.
