A little child the saviour came
by Unknown
A little child the saviour came "He called a little child and had him stand among them" Matt. 18:2 A little child the saviour came, The mighty God was still His name. And angels worshipped as He lay The seeming infant of a day. He who, a little child began The life divine to show to man, Proclaims from heaven to message free, "Let little children come to me'. Unto us, this advice, He gives, 'Let little children come to me Let not anyone hinder them; For they and I are really friends We bring them Lord and with the sign Of sprinkled water name them thine. Their souls with saving grace endow; Baptize them with they spirit now. O give thine angels charge, good Lord Them safely in thy way to guard; Thy blessing on their lives command And write their names upon thy hand. May these little children on earth Increase in wisdom and favour. We shall at last give praise to thee, With thy angels eternally Attr. To WILLIAM ROBETSON, 1820-64
