Christ Laid Aside His Own Honour "He that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life". Jn. 8:12 Christ laid aside His own honour, His glory He left above He came down to dark sinful world: He's a man of sympathy He suffered death and agony In our place that we might live Jesus has fully accepted Jesus has the power too. To deliver His faithful friends, From the hands of all their foes Jesus' love is great and matchless; His friendship to us untold. Christ, thou art the light of this world Shine and show us way of life Shine and let us carefully walk, Meet thee in heaven above. Come, O Lord, Jesus our saviour, Even in death, be near us. Christ my friend shame overwelms me, That my love to Thee is small Take my heart, fill it with thy love, Let it fill me o'er and o'er. Wash in thy blood, make me holy, Take me up, to dwell with Thee. Come Thou, Our Saviour, Give Us Grace "I am the way, the truth, and the life" John 14:6 Come thou, our Saviour, give us grace Which cometh from above; Enable us to hear the word That Thou hast sent to us It is thou, the eternal Truth. That showeth unto man, The knowledge of a life of joy, And what is good for man. O that we all may follow Thee In that good perfect way, The way in which Thou here hast walked That we may worship Thee. Thou art the life, the life of God, To them that love Thee give The pow'r o'er death and all evils That greatly vex us here Thou art the way, Thou art the truth, Thou art the perfect life, O, fill us with Thy spirit, Lord, To worship Thee alone.
